Ice cream is definitely one of the
favourites for most of us. Custard powder ice cream is little different from our
normal ice-creams. We use custard powder to make this ice cream.
Custard powder is nothing but the mixture
of vanilla essence and corn flower with added yellow colour. This custard
powder ice cream will be definitely creamy and tastes different.
It is so simple to make and doesn’t requires
much ingredients too. In simple the custard powder is mixed with milk and sugar
and boil to get right consistency. Then freeze it. Cream or malai is added to

CUSTARD POWDER ICE CREAM

INGREDIENTS:
1¼ cup milk
1½ tablespoon custard powder
½ cup sugar
½ cup cream
PREPARATION:
Mix the custard powder in ¼ cup milk
without lumps and set aside.
METHOD:
In a sauce pan add the remaining milk
and let it boil.
Add sugar and mix well.
Once the milk starts boiling add the
prepared custard + milk mixture and stir continuously to avoid lumps.
Let it boil for 5 to 10 minutes or
until it becomes thick.
Be careful and stir continuously to
avoid burning at the bottom.
Once the custard becomes thick remove
it from heat and set aside.
Let it cool down and comes to room
temperature.
Add the cream and mix well till it
becomes creamy.
Pour the mixture in a freezer safe bowl
and keep it in freezer for minimum 10 hours or overnight.
Scoop out the creamy ice cream and
serve with any of the toppings as per your wish.
NOTES:
- Instead of sugar you can use condensed milk to get richer taste and creamier.
- You can mix any roasted &chopped nuts also with the ice cream before freezing.
