AVACADO SMOOTHIE WITH BANANA/ AVACADO BANANA SMOOTHIE (BUTTER FRUIT BANANA MILKSHAKE
Avacado milkshake is one of my favorite smoothies. It
is so simple to make and can be prepared in jiffy.
I have already posted a recipe with simple ingredients
of avocado and milk. In this post am sharing another type of smoothie which is
equally yummy and creamy. The best thing is I haven’t used ice cream in both
the recipes, and using ice cubes is also a optional. Using chilled milk will
give you right amount of chillness to you smoothie. So with out guilt we can
give this to kids too.
AVACADO SMOOTHIE/ AVACADO MILK SHAKE / BUTTER FRUIT MILK SHAKE
Avacado milkshake is one of my favorite smoothie. It
is so simple to make and can be prepared in jiffy. The main ingredient for this
smoothie is avacado , milk and some sweetner.
The main thing we need to take care is using good
quality avacado, because if the avacado is not fully ripen or not in good
quality , it will taste bitter.
BANANA FLAX SEEDS SMOOTHIE

MASALA TEA/MASALA CHAI RECIPE - MASALA TEA POWDER- INDIAN MASALA TEA WITH CHAI MASALA POWDER RECIPE
Tea is the favourite of most of the people,
that too masala tea is a wonderful soothing drink for cold/cough. With the
ordinary tea, few spices are added to make it more flavourful and tastier.
To prepare the masala tea, you can make the
spice powder in bulk and can use whenever required or else you can prepare the
fresh spice powder and add to the tea.
Generally I use cardamom and fresh ginger
only to make tea. But the added spices such as pepper, cinnamon and all will
give nice flavour and definitely will give you different experienced tea.
Ok now coming to the recipe.

AUTHOR: KUZHALIS SAMAIYALARAI
RECIPE TYPE: BEVERAGES
CUISINE: NORTH INDIAN

To
prepare the masala powder (around 10 servings):
10
to 12 cardamoms
5
black pepper corns
2
inch piece cinnamon
1
½ table spoon dry ginger powder (Sukku podi)
5 or 6 cloves
To
prepare the masala tea
1½
cup milk
½
cup water
2
teaspoon tea powder
1 to 1 ½ teaspoon masala powder
1
inch ginger (Grated/Crushed)
Sugar
as required
METHOD:
In a dry grinder add the ingredients one by one and grind it into coarse powder. Now spice masala powder is ready.
Store the powder in air tight bottle and use whenever required.
Now we have to make the tea.
In a sauce pan add water and allow it to boil.
Then add the prepared spice powder, tea powder and grated ginger and allow it to boil for few minutes.
Then add the milk and let it boil in low medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Add the sugar and mix well. Then remove from heat and filter the tea.
Serve hot.
NOTES:
- The amount of spice powder is up to your choice.
- Also I like my tea to be strong and thick (with more milk). You can adjust the water and milk ratio as per your wish.
- Adjust the tea powder as per your wish, because the flavour and strong may vary for the various tea brands.
- Instead of dry ginger powder you can use dry ginger also while grinding.
- This chai masala powder will be good for minimum 1 month.

JIGARTHANDA (MADURAI SPECIAL) - BEAT THE HEAT - SUMMER COOLANT RECIPES
Then main ingredient in authentic jigarthanda is
Almond gel (Badam Pisin). It is very good to cool our body from heat. It is
good for kids also during summer to reduce the body heat.
It tastes great even with simple chilled sweetened
milk with any flavours. I am planning to post various drink with this badam
pisin here in the coming days.
The another important cooling ingredient is sarsaparilla
syrup(Nannari syrup). It is very good to beat the body heat in summer. We can
make juices/sarbath with this flavourful nannari syrup.
During my child hood, my father would brought a
big full bottle of nannari syrup during summer and will make sarbath and have
it on daily basis at afternoon time.
The third main ingredient milk will be boiled
till it becomes thick to make this drink. This reduced milk will gives nice
taste and richness and makes it yummy.
During my chldhood i have never tasted this jigarthanda, not even seen :). Later while working I have first tasted this jigarthanda at murugan Idly kadai few times and also once in Madurai.too. Then I became a very big fan for this delicious jigarthanda.
Actually I have already posted one simple version of jigarthanda in my
blog. Please check the below link
Please check the below links for mawa nad caramel syrup recipe
Please check the other summer coolants drinks given below if you are interested.
But in this recipe I have added/changed few things in this recipe. They are khoya/mawa and caramelsyrup. In simpler version I just added sugar with the milk. But here I added caramel syrup which gives nice flavor to this jigarthada and almost gives that authentic flavor and taste. I got this idea of adding caramel syrup from a youtube video. I loved the flavor of using caramel in this jigarathanda and it closely meets the authentic taste.
Another ingredient is khoya/mawa. It is nothing but the milk is reduces
until it comes to solid state. Here I have used instant mawa using milk powder.
But you can use the mawa which was prepared in traditional way, which is from
milk.
