PONGAL RECIPE COLLECTIONS

First of all Happy pongal to all of you :)

Pongal is one of the most important festival in south india. This festival is mainly celebrated in the purpose of thanking the sun and animals(especially cows and bulls).

Deepavali/Diwali is one of the very popular festival all over india. For us pongal and deepavali both are equally important. while thinking of deepavali, new dress, sweets/savouries and crackers are the things which comes in mind first. Before and all the deepavali excitemets/expectations will come a month before deepavali day. The common talkings in school were about the dresses and snacks :).

Navarathri is one of the very popular festivals all over india. The way of celebration may vary from state to state, but commonly it is celebrated for nine days and we worship the three main goddesses saraswathi, Lakshmi and Parvathi(Shakthi).
The main thing for this festival is Golu. We keep the goddess statues and dolls in the golu and do pooja regularly for those nine days.
Pooja means there should be something as neivethiyam. Generally we make sundals as neivethiyam for navarathri. For neivethiyam we should not add onion and garlic.

VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI/ GANESH CHATHURTHI RECIPE COLLECTIONS

This is my first recipe collection post in my blog. I am really very happy to start posting the recipe collections , that too firstly for the muzhumuthar kadavul's(one of the name of lord Ganesha in tamil) special day.
Pillayaar(Vinayagar/Ganesh) Chaturthi is one of the important festival in india. The celebrating method may vary from place to place , but the common neivethiyam for vinayagar(Ganesha) is modak/kozhukkattai everywhere. There are variety of modaks, sweets, sundal we offer to vinayagar on his special day.
