Raw banana tikki is a very easy and tasty starter or snack recipe. It is kids friendly too. Mostly we use potatoes to make the cutlets/tikkis. But here instead we have used raw banana(vazhaikkaai/plantain) to make this tikki.
The preparation ialso very easy and no one will find the ingredient added in the tikki while eating. This raw banana tikki can be used as the patti for burger too, or else can be used to make sandwiches.
Ok now coming to the recipe.

PREPARATION:
Boil The raw banana in water for around 15 minutes or until it becomes soft
Let it cool down completely and then peel off the skin.
Finely chop the coriander leaves.
Crush the peanuts and finely chop the cashews and keep them ready.
Grate the ginger and keep it ready.
METHOD:
Mash the cooled banana nicely with a masher or fork.
Or you can even grate it using grater , it will make the mashing work easy.
Then add the green peas, sweet corn, chopped coriander leaves, peanuts, cashews, turmeric powder, red chili powder, grated ginger, sesame seeds and then garam masala and salt.
Mix well with hands. No need to add water.
Now the mixture will be crumble, if you prepare tikkis with this, it may get split.
So add the besan /chickpea flour and mix well.
Adjust the chickpeas flour as required.
Then heat oil and make round pattis with the prepared dough and shallow fry them.
Flip in between and let it cook till it becomes golden brown on both the sidesin low medium flame.
Now our delicious raw banana tikki is ready. Serve with ketchup or green chutney.
NOTES:
- I have used frozen corn and green peas, so added directly. if you are using the dried corn or peas, cook them till soft and then add
- If the tikki dough is so dry, youcan sprinkle few easpoon of water and knead.
- besan(chickpea flour) is used for binding, instead roasted gram flour pottukadalai flour or rice flour, or bread crumbs can also be used.
- if you like you can deep fry the patis.
- also can coat the patties with sooji/khus khus/ bread crumbs to make it more attractive and for crispy outer layer.
- This patti can be served just with green chutney /ketchup or can also be used to make burger ot bread sandwiches or even for chats..
- if you like you can even add finely chopped green chillis too.
- Instead of shallow frying you can even tawa cook the tikkis with less oil.
