Sundal is a healthy, simple snack perfect for
elders and even for kids. For this year navarathri, green peas pudina sundal is
one more addition to my sundal collection.
Here I have given the recipe of Green peas(Pacha
pattani) sundal with a twist of mint flavour. This sundal is definitely a
different flavoured sundal than our regular tempered sundals.
So definitely give it a try and don’t forget to

MINT AND CORIANDER FLAVOURED GREEN PEAS SUNDAL
SOAKING TIME: 8 HRS | PREPARATION
TIME: 5 MINS | COOKING
TIME: 20 MIN

INGREDIENTS:
1
1/2 cup Green peas
Water
to cook
Salt
to taste
½
cup grated coconut
To
wet grind
Few mint leaves
Few
coriander leaves
1
inch piece ginger
1
or 2 green chillies
1
small tomato
To
temper:
1
tablespoon oil
1
teaspoon mustard seeds
PREPARATION:
Soak the green peas in water for
minimum 8 hours.
Grind the items given under the title “To
wet grind” into smooth paste.
Grate the coconut and set aside.
METHOD:
Pressure cook the soaked green peas
with enough salt for 2 whistles.
Don’t let it over cook and make it as
mushy.
In a pan add oil and let it heat.
Then add the mustard seeds and let it
splutter.
Add the ground paste and saute well for
1 minute.
Then add the cooked green peas and mix
well.
Add a pinch of salt and grated coconut and
stir.
Serve hot!!
NOTES:
- Don’t overcook the peas. It should be soft but not mushy.
- The whistle count may vary as it depends on the cooker you used.
- Adjust the spiciness by adding/removing the green chillies.
- No need to add water while grinding, the moisture comes from tomato is enough.
