Thiruvathirai kali is a healthy recipe which we
prepare on thiruvathirai day. Thiruvathirai is a festival we celebrate on the
full moon day of tamil month margazhi. This day is special for lord shiva. So
we make this kali as nivethiyam and offer to god.

Actually till few years back ie., before my marriage,
I didn’t even know that we can make fried rice in home, and though it is

Tomato rice is very simple variety rice. It is perfect
to pack for lunch box. Actually we can prepare tomato rice as one pot dish. But
traditionally we make tomato masala first and then will mix with the rice.

Carrot halw is a scrumptious sweet prepared using
carrots and milk. Generally we use Sugar for the sweetness, but in this recipe I
have used palm candy, yes., actually nowadays I am trying to avoid white sugar
, so replaced white sugar with palm candy. You can use the white sugar also if you
like.
SUBZ PULAO (VEGETABLE RICE) NO ONION NO GARLIC PULAO- LEFT OVER RICE RECIPES
Subz pulao is one of the very easy rice recipes with
minimal ingredients. This recipe doen’t needs more veggies also, so chopping
time also will be less. It is a no onion garlic recipe.
SWEET JAGGERY PUTTU/ VELLA PUTTU - SWEET PUTTU USING IDIYAPPAM FLOUR
Puttu is a popular healthy snack/breakfast item in
south india. Generally the puttu will prepared prepared with coconut and then

for all ages. This flax seeds banana smoothie is very good smoothie to have
even during diets. The name itself says the main ingredients to make this smoothie
are banana and flax seeds.
Actually am not a big fan of smoothies, but I loved

PANEER BUTTER MASALA RECIPE
Paneer butter masala is one of the popular creamy
north Indian side dish for roti varieties and mild pulaos. The name itself says
the main ingredient is paneer.
Almost all my recent posts are south Indian, so
after a long days, am posting one of my favourite scrumptious north Indian dish
butter masala recipe.
It is a mild spiced curry with cream and cashew
paste which makes this curry as so rich. In addition we are making this curry
in butter, which gives extraordinary taste and flavour.
BLACK NIGHT SHADE LEAVES (MANATHAKKALI KEERAI) THANNI SAARU (SOUP)
Manathakkali keerai(Black night shade leaves)is one
of the very good medicinal herb which is very good in curing ulcers, both stomach
and mouth ulcers. You can even chew the leaf as raw daily in the morning to relieve
from mouth ulcers.
This thanni saru(soup) is really a tasty yummy soup
made using mnathakkaali leaves along with coconut milk and cumin seeds. Youcan even
make simple kootu with this leaves, but I would say, this thanni saru is the best
recipe to prepare with manathakkali leaves, That much I love this yummy thanni
saru.
We can even drink this thanni saru as such or mix
with hot rice and relish. As we have added coconut milk and cumin with this
leaves, this thanni saru will act as a good coolant too.
My amma used to eat few leaves as raw whenever she
have mouth ulcers. And mostly makes thanni saru only with this leaves atleast
monthly once, as we had a lot of manathakkali plant in our backyards. She even
prepare the vatral with the manathakkali kai. With these vatrals we can make
yummy vatha kuzhambu.
KARAMANI(BLACK EYED PEAS) SUNDAL- NAVARATHRI RECIPES
Now navarathri
is going on. Sundal is a very popular and must do neivethiyam for
navarathri pooja. Today am posting the recipe of kaaramani sundal(black eyed
beans sundal) with sundal podi. Yes., in this recipe I have added a special
flavourful simple spice powder to give extraordinary taste to the sundal.
AVAL KESARI/ POHA/FLATTENED RICE KESARI
Kesari is a instant sweet that we make commonly for
guest visits to serve for breakfast or evening snacks. Generally we make kesari
using Rava(semolina). It is one of the very easy sweets but little tricky. Ok, will post that recipe
in near future as separate. Now coming to today’s recipe aval kesari. Yes.,
kesari using Aval(poha/flattened rice).

NAVARATHRI RECIPE COLLECTIONS
Navarathri is one of the very popular festivals all over india. The way of celebration may vary from state to state, but commonly it is celebrated for nine days and we worship the three main goddesses saraswathi, Lakshmi and Parvathi(Shakthi).
The main thing for this festival is Golu. We keep the goddess statues and dolls in the golu and do pooja regularly for those nine days.
Pooja means there should be something as neivethiyam. Generally we make sundals as neivethiyam for navarathri. For neivethiyam we should not add onion and garlic.
